چکیده
Solar neutrinos: where we are and what is next? We summarize the results of solar neutrino experiments and update a solar model independent analysis of solar neutrino data. We discuss the implications of helio-seismology on solar models and predicted solar neutrino fluxes. Finally , we discuss the potential of new experiments for detecting specific signatures of the proposed solutions to the solar neutrino puzzle.

متن کاملSolar neutrino detection
More than 40 years ago, neutrinos where conceived as a way to test the validity of the solar models which tell us that stars are powered by nuclear fusion reactions. The first measurement of the neutrino flux, in 1968 in the Homestake mine in South Dakota, detected only one third of the expected value, originating what has been known as the Solar Neutrino Problem. Different experiments were bui...
متن کاملTesting the principle of equivalence by solar neutrinos.
We discuss the possibility of testing the principle of equivalence with solar neutrinos. If there exists a violation of the equivalence principle quarks and leptons with different flavors may not universally couple with gravity. The method we discuss employs a quantum mechanical phenomenon of neutrino oscillation to probe into the non-universality of the gravitational couplings of neutrinos. We...
متن کاملSolar Neutrino Oscillations in the Moon
Many different solar neutrino experiments detect significantly fewer neutrinos than expected. No known modification of the standard solar model can account for all of the data. The most likely explanation is neutrino oscillations, in which many of the electron neutrinos emitted by the core of the Sun convert into other types of neutrinos while traversing the Sun. This explanation will be severe...
متن کاملCp Violation in Neutrino Oscillations without Antineutrinos: Energy Dependence
The next generation of long baseline neutrino oscillation experiments will aim at determining the unknown mixing angle θ13, the type of neutrino mass hierarchy and CP-violation. We discuss the separation of these properties by means of the energy dependence of the oscillation probability and we consider an hybrid setup which combines the electron capture and the β decay from the same radioactiv...
